About UnscrambleIt

UnscrambleIt is a free, fast, and friendly tool for word lovers — whether you play tournament Scrabble, race friends on Words with Friends, or just need help with today's Wordle. It runs entirely in your browser, uses no accounts, and never logs what you search.

What we do

Our core unscrambler accepts up to 15 letters (including blanks) and returns every legal word that can be formed, grouped by length and ranked by Scrabble point value. Alongside the unscrambler we run a Scrabble Word Finder with prefix/suffix and must-include constraints, an Anagram Solver for pure rearrangements, and a Wordle Solver that filters candidates by known green/yellow/gray letters. We also publish complete browsable word lists — every 2-letter word, every word starting with Q, every 5-letter word Wordle might throw at you — indexed and searchable.

Who it's for

UnscrambleIt is built for casual and competitive word-game players, crossword solvers, ESL learners building vocabulary, teachers preparing word-work activities, and writers hunting for the right rhyme, prefix, or high-value tile play. If you like words, we built this for you.

Games we support

  • Scrabble (TWL and CSW dictionaries)
  • Words with Friends
  • Wordle
  • Wordscapes
  • Word Cookies
  • Wordfeud
  • TextTwist
  • Jumble

Our dictionary

We use the ENABLE (Enhanced North American Benchmark LExicon) word list — a public-domain dictionary of roughly 172,000 words used across competitive North American word games. Word definitions are pulled from the Free Dictionary API on demand. If you spot a missing word or a bad definition, tell us on the contact page.

Who runs UnscrambleIt

UnscrambleIt is built and maintained by a small independent team of engineers and word-game players. The site is bootstrapped and ad-supported — there are no investors, no data brokers, and no accounts. Everything runs client-side in your browser, so we don't see your searches, your racks, or your Wordle guesses. Editorial content on the blog is written and reviewed by the UnscrambleIt team.

Our approach

Fast to load, honest with users, and useful without a login. The site is supported entirely by display ads, which lets us keep every feature 100% free. If a feature you want isn't here yet, ask — the roadmap comes from reader mail.
